Uh . . . Hitler? Stalin? Pol Pot? Hello???? These are all atheists.
It's okay to be atheist. I respect that. Me too. But let's don't say silly things. When you begin to worship atheism, it leads you to believe silly things that are as crazy and illogical as the things the religious believe.

The actions of Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot, were not empirically based objective acts. They were ideologically based quasi religious acts.
More to the point, I never said that no atheist had ever committed genocide, there's a difference.

Nice troll ya got there. Hitler was an atheist. Right.
Hey Anon: Do not confuse the alpha monkey's hatred of control-freak manipulator competition with ideological opposition. Hitler was Hitler's god. Nationalism was his religion, and Christianity was the official State-condoned delusional flavor of absentee God-worship. Read a book and stop getting your information from people with an agenda, who set out to prove what they wish to prove.

I do not know what a "empirically based objective principle" is. Does communism fit?
This sounds similar to what to Steven Weinberg says "With or without [religion] you’d have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion.”
The reality is that any ideology taken to its extreme can lead basically good people to do evil things. Extreme Communism, nationalism and religion have led to genocide. I imagine that someday a fundamentalist atheist commit mass murder in the name of atheism. Certainly religion is the easiest ideology to take advantage of but it is not the only one.
